At present, the only way to decrease the mortality and morbidity from breast cancer is to detect it before the patient presents with symptoms. Towards this direction the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in partnership with the Ministry of Health launched a national breast screening program under the patronage of her Excellency Mrs. Suzan Mubarak – the First Lady of Egypt. This initiative is a Government Funded service that offers free breast screening to Egyptian women above the age of 45 years old.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) ranks among the leading causes of adult morbidity and mortality
worldwide, especially among smokers. An estimated 16 million Americans have the disorder.
1
The incidence of COPD
is increasing, and illness-associated costs account for up to 15 % of sickness benefits.
2
With approximately 96,000
deaths annually, COPD places fourth as a cause of death in the United States

A 7-year-old Chinese boy with a history of bronchial asthma had upper respiratory tract infection for the preceding two weeks treated by a pediatrician. He then presented with confusion and incoherent speech on the day of admission. He was afebrile, with the Glasgow coma scale (GCS) of 14/15 (E4V4M6) and normal physical findings. Investigations showed normal complete blood counts, blood glucose, renal and liver function tests except for mildly elevated ALT at 34 IU/L (5-25 IU/L).

Critical care nurses often find themselves in the midst of challenging ethical situations that involve conflict between the needs of critically ill patients and the patients’ family members and the preferences of physicians and other healthcare providerswho initiate and manage resuscitation measures. The presence of patients’ family members during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an ethical issue debated among healthcare professionals who routinely face life-threatening situations. Presentation of a case study involving a family’s presence during CPR provides students in a critical care nursing course valuable experience in making ethical decisions that will prepare the students for the inevitable dilemmas faced by professional nurses. It discusses about the Family Presence duringCardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

This paper shows a case about a 40 year man and the issue caused due to the arrival of his wife in the critical care unit.
